Mesa County School District 51, in cooperation with Colorado Mesa University, will host its 88TH Annual Colorado West Invitational Music Performance Festival this Thursday through Saturday (April 18 through 20).

This year’s festival will showcase more than 223 performing ensembles from across Colorado and Utah. Music lovers will be able to enjoy orchestra, choir, band and jazz performances from a variety of middle and high schools.

This event is open to the public.

The festival will take place at five different locations on Thursday and Friday. Grand Junction and Central High Schools will host the band performances, while Palisade High School will display the orchestra performances. Colorado Mesa University will host the vocal events in its Ballroom and Recital Hall.

On Saturday, the festival will be held at two locations. Central High School will host the jazz band performances, while Colorado Mesa University will host the jazz choir performances in the Recital Hall.
