Colorado Mesa Volleyball Earns RMAC Honors, Along With Tournament Win
Tuesday turned out to be a good day for Colorado Mesa University’s volleyball team, who received multiple honors that included a postseason win.
First of all, Colorado Mesa’s volleyball coach, Dave Fleming, was named Coach of the Year by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). Secondly, five of CMU’s six starters earned All-RMAC honors.
The RMAC presented Melissa Hess, Jordyn Moody and Abby Ney with first team honors, while Audrey Steinkirchner was named to the second team. Casey Ball and Tiffany Peterson were named as honorable mentions.
To finish out the day Tuesday, the Lady Mavericks went on to win the RMAC Tournament quarterfinal match by shutting out Colorado-Colorado Springs 3-0.
With Tuesday’s win, Colorado Mesa will host the RMAC Tournament Final Four Friday and Saturday at Brownson Arena. Colorado Mesa will play Regis at 7:00 p.m. Friday, while Colorado Mines and Metro State will play in the other semifinal game at 4:00 p.m. Friday.
The championship game is set for 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
