Sexually Violent Predator Notification From Grand Junction Police Department

The Grand Junction Police Department  - as mandated by Colorado law - is notifying the community about a sexually violent predator (SVP) that is living within the city limits. The notification does not give people the right to harass or intimidate the individual, but rather to simply provide awareness of his presence. If suspicious activity is observed, it should be reported.

Sex Offenders Should Not Be Harassed or Threatened

The police department issues a reminder that sex offenders should not be harassed or threatened. That behavior can cause them to go underground and not register, making it difficult to track them. Additionally, we're told that harassment and threats against offenders is a criminal offense and will be investigated and prosecuted.
