One of the best things about Whataburger is that the drive-thru is open 24 hours a day, making it the perfect place to grab a late-night snack. The dining room will be open from 6 AM to 10 PM and curbside pickup and delivery for online orders will be available in the coming weeks.

How Do You Pronounce Whataburger?

First of all, let's go over the correct way to pronounce Whataburger. This fast-food restaurant with a cult following is pronounced:

What-A-Burger

It is not pronounced:

Water-Burger

However, if you've ever been to Texas, you probably could have sworn it was the latter pronunciation. That's just a Texan's southern drawl, and unless you're from the south, you'll probably be just fine pronouncing the name correctly.

Whataburger's History

Whataburger was created in the year 1950 by Harmon Dobson, who dreamed of creating a burger so delicious that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!”

The very first Whataburger was opened on August 8, 1950, in Corpus Christ and it marked the first time that customers were given a 5 inch bun, one so big that it had to be held with two hands.

You know how the saying goes, "everything's bigger in Texas."

What is Whataburger?

Whataburger is the ULTIMATE fast-food burger restaurant. With thousands of customizations, delicious fries, and shakes, other burger joints can only dream of being as loved.

Need more proof about just how loved Whataburger truly is?

In 2001, the 77th Texas Legislature designated Whataburger an official Texas Treasure.

Can We Expect More Whataburger Locations in Colorado?

Yes! More Colorado Whataburger locations are coming later this year. The additional restaurants will be located at 6140 Dublin Blvd and 5905 Constitution Ave. Whataburger has plans to hire 300 applicants to deliver the Whataburger experience.
