Mind Springs To Close Crisis Center in Grand Junction

Due to funding losses, the Crisis Center in Grand Junction will be closing its doors.

What that means for those who are currently involved with the crisis center, their needs will still be met, but for others, their avenue will now involve contacting the state-wide crisis center.

Previously, law enforcement officers and the general public could bring someone in crisis to the center and they would get help, but because funding had to be shifted to different areas and programs, those needs will now have to be met by going through numerous channels and contacting the state.

The detox and crisis facility had been available for those who needed to detoxify who were brought in by police officers as well as the general public, but the center will now be operated by Rocky Mountain Health Plans.

The state has set up a crisis hotline for those in need. That number is 1-844-493-talk (8255)

The center will close its doors on June 30.
