The 17th annual Rose Hill Rally bicycle ride on May 5 was a huge success with over 600 registered riders. The event is held to raise money and awareness of the Rose Hill Hospitality House which provides accommodations for patients and their families receiving treatment at St. Mary's Hospital.

The annual event offers both a 50k and 100k ride beginning and ending at Canyon View Park. The 50k ride takes riders through the farm country to Fruita and back while the 100k riders are offered the same course with the addition of extending the ride to Highline Lake and back.

The ride is designed for bicyclists ranging from recreational through enthusiast and boasts riders of all ages, including a 90-year old who rode in the 2013 event. While promoted as a local event, bicyclists from all over Colorado, including some from Denver, rode in this year's rally.

The Rose Hill Rally is held annually on the first Sunday in May.
