In a state like Colorado you have a number of choices for hikes, but for absolute beauty in your surroundings, you can do much worse than Crested Butte.

Whether in spring or summer you will find trails that suit your hiking requirements. So if you've been hiking for a while, or are giving it your first try the trails in Crested Butte will put smiles on your face and fill up your camera with some amazing scenery.

Aspen Grove

The Kebler Pass aspen grove in Horse Ranch Park is one of the largest on Earth and worth every step of the hike. Add in the gorgeous wildflowers and you have the makings of a thoroughly enjoyable hike. If you wait until fall for this hike, you can add in the changing colors to your itinerary.

Rustlers Gulch

This one you may want to wait until mid-July to take, in order to take advantage of all of the blooming wildflowers. The splashes of color you will experience here will make you glad you waited.

Lost Lake

Consider all you will see on this hike and you will add it to your favorites list. First of all, it's easy and second of all, well, there is an awful lot to see. Do you like waterfalls? Lakes? Aspen groves? This hike has them all.

Mt. Crested Butte-Summit

You get to start this one by taking a lift up to the base area at 11,340 feet. From there it's just hiking along the summit, with the views of the entire area there for you to take in. And if you are one hearty soul, you can hike the entire thing. That's quite a climb!

Hiking beautiful Colorado never got more beautiful.
