Craig, Colorado is a small town in northwestern Colorado that desperately needs a new courthouse. It's been said that the current Moffat County courthouse located in the town is in such bad shape that it has become an issue not just with safety, but also security. Lead pipes contaminating the water, as well as walls so thin that confidentiality in court cases might be compromised, are just a couple of issues that the current courthouse is facing.

However, Craig will soon be finding a new courthouse in the form of the town's old now-abandoned Kmart building which is located at 1198 W. Victory Way.

Here is what the Kmart building currently looks like:

Not only will the building provide a safer, more secure environment for the new courthouse, but because the property was once home to a Kmart store, the town of Craig is excited about the extra parking as well.

Plus, as you can see, the new courthouse will be conveniently located in the center of the town:

The new courthouse will reportedly cost around $23 million and is estimated to be open in early 2023.
