A question for parents -- would your children recognize the above picture as drugs? Better yet, would you - as a parent - recognize the picture in relation to drugs?

Crimestoppers, in conjunction with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, has scheduled a class to educate parents about the dangers of synthetic drugs.

The main reason for the class – new drugs are constantly hitting the streets, and parents (and kids) may not know what they look like.

The class will take place Tuesday, February 5TH at the City Hall auditorium, 250 North 5TH Street in Grand Junction.

The class will focus on teaching teens and parents about next generation drugs, what they look like, and how they are packaged. The class will also have actual drugs on display, which were confiscated from past drug busts.

Included as part of the class, videos will be shown of teens synthetic drugs and how they are affected.

Teens and parents are encouraged to attend the class together.
