The vouchers don't make the spay or neuter free, but it does get discounted to just $25 per animal. The funding for this project came from the Animal Assistance Foundation.

Mesa County Pet Owner Requirements for the Spay and Neuter Voucher

If you're interested in getting one of these vouchers for your animal you will be required to show proof of current rabies vaccination before the procedure takes place. If your pet isn't up to date on its rabies vaccine the owner will need to pay for that service.

Each of the thirteen veterinarian offices has a specific number of vouchers they are able to use. You may be asked to provide proof they need financial assistance with the procedure or just communicate with the doctor as to why they should qualify for this program. Vouchers became available starting on March 1st and are valid through September 30th, 2021.
