Grand Junction’s Top 5 Weekend Things To Do
Ah the weekend. That time when you can relax, unwind and shake of the week's frustration. And just exactly how are you going to do that? If you're not sure, check out these 5 things to do and see if you can't accomplish one or two this, or any weekend!
Corn Hole
Take the fun of horseshoes and put it in a bean bag and whattaya got? Corn Hole! Set up a few boards, get the neighbors and fire up the grills! Have your own tournament! Corn Hole boards are easy to make and inexpensive to buy. A one pound bean bag in one hand, a nice cold one in the other and balance is achieved.
Take A Hike
No, I'm not telling you to take a hike, just, well, take a hike. There are a number of trails around here from beginner to savage. Just make sure if you decide to take a hike, take some water and also let someone know where you're going. The Blue Heron and Audubon trails are especially excellent.
Ride A Horse
Get out of town, get on a horse and let the ride take away the stress. Riding horseback is a great way to just forget about everything else. With a little imagination, you too can be John Wayne, in your mind! And if you own your own horse, you could combine this one with our next one!
Go Camping
I don't need a reason to go camping, but it being the weekend sounds good enough for me. How about you? Do you like to relax under the stars, relish the quiet and cook your food over a blazing campfire? Yeah, I thought you did. Let's go camping!
Do Nothing
Yeah. I like this one for weekends once in awhile. Break out the lawn chairs, crack open a cold one, listen to the kids at play, maybe listen to a game on the radio, grill up a few steaks and just relax. Click repeat for maximum all weekend fun.
I need more suggestions, so feel free to comment on your favorite things to do for the weekend. Meanwhile, it's the weekend so, see ya!
