Delaney Clements Memorial Bench Finds Perfect Home
A bench that is a tribute to Delaney Clements, the brave Grand Junction 13-year-old who died from cancer in March, has found the perfect permanent home.
The bench dedicated to Delaney Clements, who was first diagnosed with neuroblastoma at age 8, will be placed at St. Mary's Regional Cancer Center.
Delaney, because of her amazingly positive attitude, battled cancer while simultaneously helping found and promote Delaney Donates, an organization supporting families who have been impacted by cancer.
Delaney's mom, Wendy Reece and the City of Grand Junction have been searching for the right place to put the bench. With the help of St. Mary's Foundation, it was decided the bench should be placed at the Cancer Center.
An official unveiling of the bench is being held on Friday (October 7) at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Regional Cancer Center located at 750 Wellington Avenue.
The public is invited to celebrate with her family and friends the incredible awareness about childhood cancer Delaney was able to bring to the community.
