How Do You Spell Happiness? Spell It F-U-D-G-E
English teachers across the Grand Valley and beyond may disagree with my spelling, but I don't believe fudge-lovers will.
When I caught wind of an upcoming fudge sale and discovered where the fudge was coming from, I just had to let everyone know about it. This made me so happy!
First of all, you need to know that this fudge sale is a fundraiser for Friends of St. Mary's Hospital, with proceeds going to the St. Mary's Fund and Micah S. Montag Pediatrics Fund. That's just one reason to buy some fudge.
The other reason to buy some fudge is because it's from the Blue Moose Sweet Shoppe, which specializes in gourmet fudge. Yum, yum!
Although I don't know exactly what flavors of fudge are available for this sale, they tell us there are over 18 flavors to choose from. Some of the flavors offered by the Blue Moose include bacon maple walnut, butter pecan, chocolate peanut butter, cookies and creme, pecan turtle, and double chocolate. I think my taste buds just did a happy dance.
Now that I have your attention, here's when it all goes down.
On February 13 and 14 from 10am-4pm you can get your fudge in the hospital's main lobby and pavilion. They'll even have chocolate roses for $2 each -- and it's no coincidence that it's Valentine's Day.
As for the price, it's $4 for a 1/4 pound, or you can get a pound and a half for $20.
Of course, this would make a great gift for your sweetheart for Valentine's Day. If she happens to be on a diet, you could still get her some fudge, then tell her you love her so much you will eat if for her. And ladies, nothing would stop you from treating your man to some delicious fudge - nothing at all.
I plan to be there early because I want to be sure and get the flavors I really want. From now on, I'm only going to need five letters to spell happiness -- f-u-d-g-e.
Hopefully, I'll see you there.
