Colorado Highway 14, Poudre Canyon Experiencing Mudslides, Flooding
According to the Larimer County Emergency live feed, areas of the Poudre Canyon and Poudre River near the Mishawaka are experiencing mudslides and have resulted in major property damage.
Crews say that three homes have washed into the river, and three people are currently missing: one of whom is a firefighter. These individuals have yet to be identified. Mudslides are reported to be so severe that areas of Highway 14 are closed and expected to be closed for long periods of time this evening. According to crews on the feed, emergency alerts warning of an imminent threat have gone out.
According to the Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority, it was warned that thunderstorms producing heavy rain 4 miles west of the Mishawaka would cause flash flooding around 4:30 p.m. today. The National Weather Service also released a flash flood warning for North Larimer County at 6:58 p.m. lasting until 8:58 p.m.
