You always know the new year is underway when we start talking about the Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley.

For 16 years, the Taste has been a major fund-raising event for United Way of Mesa County and this year's event will be held will be held February 4 from 4:00 until 7:30 at the Meyer Ballroom on the campus of Colorado Mesa University.

The Taste of the Grand Valley is a fun event that gives you a chance to sample food and drink from a variety of vendors. Typically, more than 1,000 people attend the event, so not only is it very tasty, it's quite a social event as well.

So, what vendors will be represented? United Way of Mesa County tells us the list of vendors scheduled to be there includes:

Four Winds Coffee and Tea
Buffalo Wild Wings
Colorado BBQ of the Rockies
Garlic Knot
Enstrom's
Famous Dave's
Gelu Italian Ice
Zesty Moose
The Ribber
Be Sweet Bake Shop
Murray's Cheese
Mesa County Cattlewomen
Zoup
Gumbo Lov
The Flying Pig
Cowboy and the Rose
Spaghetti Mill

I have attended nearly all of the Taste of the Grand Valley events over the years, and I can tell you, this year is shaping up to have one of the best lineups. It may not be the biggest Taste ever, but there are a lot of top quality food providers that will more than make this event worth the price of a ticket.

Speaking of ticket prices, it's $15 for adults, $10 for students, seniors, and military, and under 6 are free. Advance tickets are available online, and will be $5 more the day of the event.
