The Lantern Festival will light up the Colorado skies in a two-night event.

The festival will be on April 23 and 24 at the Colorado National Speedway, close to Metro Denver. The festival includes live music, dancing, s'mores, face painters, balloon artists, vendors, and of course, hundreds of lanterns being sent off all at once when the time is right.

Lanterns have been used as a Chinese tradition to ask for good weather, health, or to celebrate a family or friend's life. The participants in this event can decide their own meaning behind the lantern.

People can use the lanterns to remember a loved one, symbolize letting go of the past, starting a new chapter in life, or whatever they find the most meaningful to send off into the night sky.

Make sure to get your tickets ahead of time before prices go up.
