Seminars, Musicals Among Grand Junction’s Weekend of Events for January 17-19

Palisade High School’s Performing Arts will present the musical “Hello Dolly!” Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students/seniors.

Join the Museum of Western Colorado as it presents a behind the scenes Tour of the Museum at the Museum of the West. Cost is $5 per person, and pre-registration is not required.

The Theater Project will present the musical “A Chorus Line.” Just a caution to parents – this performance is rated R due to adult language and content. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students/seniors.

Mesa County Valley School District 51 and Community Hospital will present a free seminar on the dangers of concussions from sports injuries. Medical professionals and individuals who work closely with sports injuries will provide information during this seminar, which is designed for parents, coaches, athletes and anyone who wants to learn more about the risks of multiple untreated concussions. Light refreshments will be served. Information will include the following topics: (a) What happens to the brain when a concussion occurs? (b) Identify concussion signs and symptoms; (c) know when additional medical attention is needed; (d) Understand what your responsibilities are in concussion management; (e) REAP Concussion Management Program; (f) a parent’s role in management; and (g) legislative regulations on concussion. Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra will present Rockestra, which is the only professional rock and roll orchestra west of the Missouri River. Concert theme is "Dazed and Confused, Rock Music in the Movies." Tickets range from $20 to $25. Tickets are available at the Symphony office at 414 Main Street in Grand Junction or at the box office on day of concert.

Black Tie & Boots Gala is an event to benefit HopeWest. Activities include a champagne reception, dinner, silent & live auctions, and dancing to the music of Surfin’ Safari. Admission is $125 per person.
