Technology is an amazing – and frightening thing…and, in case you haven’t noticed, moving forward at  lightening speed. We thought the invention of touch screens on computers and smart phones was the coolest thing ever, but can you even imagine no-touch technology?

The products commercially available today that are so amazingly awesome will be obsolete before we know it. In the next  few  years, we could be turning lights on and off at home just by thinking about it…or sending emails from our smart phone without even taking it out of our pocket.

Here is the  latest news from the MIT Technology Review. Researchers are testing tablets that can be controlled by your brain, using a cap that resembles a ski cap studded with monitoring electrodes.

A molecular biologist is working on a project called The Brain Activity Map…a decade long research project aiming to build a comprehensive map of the brain. The Brain Activity Map will revolutionize everything from robotic implants to TV remote controls. It is  very possible that one day we will have the ability to change television channels just by simply  thinking about it. Are you kidding me?

I can Imagine the family is watching TV together, and everyone wants to watch something different….. dad thinks football, mom thinks shopping show, and the kids think cartoons. How is that going to work?!?!

Of course, no-touch technology is nothing knew. We can now "speak" commands to our cars, computers, and smart phones. It looks like maybe one day we may be "thinking" those commands.

All of this can be exciting….but downright frightening! In fact,  I am having a panic attack right now just thinking about not having control of the remote control.
