If you were in Grand Junction at anytime on Sunday, you would know just how cool it was within the city limits. And the National Weather Service has provided the proof.

The National Weather Service has reported that Sunday’s high for Grand Junction topped out at just 70 degrees, which broke the record for the lowest high temperature for the date. The previous record for August 25 was set in 1921 at 73 degrees.

The rain Grand Junction received on Sunday helped with the low temperature. The National Weather Service says Grand Junction received 0.63 inches of rain on Sunday, and more could be in store for today.

The National Weather Service is also reporting that eastern Utah and western Colorado remain under a flood watch until 6 p.m. today.
