Three little kittens were seen playing together in a Colorado backyard over the weekend except...these weren't your everyday cuddly little house kittens that were on the loose. They were mountain lion cubs...still very cuddly looking but probably something you would immediately regret doing if Mama Mountain Lion was nearby.

According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, a resident in Larkspur, Colorado captured some pretty incredible video of a trio of mountain lion cubs just hanging out together, playing and exploring...something mountain lion cubs do a lot of to shore up their hunting skills which Mama has down pat.

Speaking of which, with 3 of her cubs roaming around, Mama Mountain Lion wasn't seen but I'm sure she wasn't far away and probably watching very intently as her babies frolicked around.

Thankfully the person rolling this video was smart enough to keep their distance because we are in their territory and habitat. Especially with more and more buildings and expansion moving westward farther into the foothills. Mountain lion attacks on humans while rare, do occur so it's always important in any instance with a wild animal to respect it and give it plenty of space, especially if there are babies around.

Our good friends at Colorado Parks and Wildlife have put together a bunch of info and safety tips on mountain lions for us....check them out HERE.
