One of the things missing since City Market closed their doors is a place to grocery shop in or near downtown Grand Junction.

Residents in that part of town have had to go much further away to get their shopping done.

Welcome to the downtown area The Hog and Hen.

While not a full-on grocery store, they have some much-needed items such as toiletries, some frozen foods, a deli, and liquor to allow those residents a place to pick up a few things in between major grocery shopping trips.

The store, located at 500 Main St, moved into the space previously occupied by The CandyTime Shoppe.

The owners, Cooper and Mary Hall, gave thought to another restaurant or tasting room, but saw the needs of those living in the downtown area and went with the grocery store hybrid instead.

A most welcome addition to downtown Grand Junction.
