Grand Junction’s First Celebrity Crushes
Celebrity crushes are a big part of growing up. Whether we fell for a movie star, musician, model, or another type of celebrity, we all had at least one celebrity growing up that we developed a massive crush on.
I posted a question on Facebook asking who your first celebrity crush was and got some great responses.
Some of the responses as to who your first celebrity crushes were named famous musicians and singers from one era or another. These responses included people like Leif Garret, Rick Springfield, and Tiffany from the '80s, Art Alexakis of Everclear, and Britney Spears from the '90s, giving clues as to the ages of those responding to the question.
A lot of your first celebrity crushes were also those of actors and actresses. Some of these responses included old school actresses such as Sally Fields, Michael Landon, and The Mickey Mouse Club's Annette Funicello, as well as actors from the '90s such as Val Kilmer in Batman Forever, Neve Campbell from Party of Five and Scream, as well as more modern actors like Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman, both of Star Wars prequels fame.
Interestingly, a couple of your first celebrity crushes also included cartoon characters. While it's not uncommon for a child to have a crush on a cartoon character, it's most likely that the response of crushing on Marge Simpson was a joke. However, having a crush on Minnie Mouse as one of the responses stated isn't that far off for a kid of that era.
