Grand Junction Cheerleaders Headed to State Championships
The 2019 Colorado State Spirit Championships is tomorrow and the Western Slope is well represented. These are the cheerleading squads that are representing.
Grand Junction High School, Central High School, and Palisade High School are representing the Western Slope tomorrow during the state championships. These cheerleading squads are walking into the State Spirit Championships like 'the Western Slope is here and we're ready to cheer.'
Even though there are quite a few schools from Grand Junction, all three of them are competing in different categories. So it's great they're not up against each other and it's also great that our Grand Junction cheerleaders could bring home the gold in three different categories.
Colorado Mesa University will be there too, but not to compete. They're doing an exhibition performance during the state championships and are also going to cheer on their Grand Junction squads.
I saw a video of Central High School's showcase and I am super impressed. They were doing backflips and all kinds of crazy cool moves. My coworker took the picture above, which shows all four squads together -- Central High School, Grand Junction High School, Palisade High School, and Colorado Mesa University.
I know they're all headed to Denver today to get ready for the championships tomorrow. We just want to good luck to all the squads representing the Western Slope and we're already so proud of you. All three teams will bring home the gold, no doubt.
