Grand Junction-Area Events to Help Celebrate New Year’s Eve
As we finish out 2014 and officially begin 2015, several events are scheduled throughout the Grand Junction area to help make the transition into the new year.
If you haven't made plans for New Year's Eve, here are some options to help celebrate the evening:
Movie at the Avalon

The featured film for Movie at the Avalon is "The Judge" starring Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall. The movie will be shown on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day at 5:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. each day. Admission is $6.
New Year's Eve Torchlight Parade & Fireworks

Powderhorn Mountain Resort is hosting its annual Torchlight Parade & Fireworks Display. Festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. with a DJ on the Sunset Deck. Skiers and riders parade down the mountain with lights and torches to illuminate the mountain. Fun is expected for the whole family.
New Year's Eve Celebration featuring Changing Lanes Experience

The Doubletree by Hilton will host its annual New Year’s Eve Celebration, and Changing Lanes Experience will perform during the event. Changing Lanes Experience is a top rated R&B Band from Utah. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. DJ at 8:00 and concert starting at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $44 each. Purchase tickets by calling 970-257-8138 or in person at the Doubletree by Hilton. New Year’s Eve Celebration packages are available as well.
High Desert Opera presents "The Secret Garden"

High Desert Opera will present the Broadway musical “The Secret Garden” at CMU’s Robinson Theater. High Desert will give three fully staged performances of this Tony award winning musical. It will feature a live orchestra and a combination of professional singers and talented local singers. This inspiring work is based on the classic children’s book by the same name. The Broadway musical ia a “grown up” version of the original book with more developed adult characters, creating a story suited to audiences of all ages. Admission ranges from $10 to $39.
New Year’s Eve Celebration Dance

Adobe Creek Golf Course will host a New Year's Eve Celebration Dance food, fun, live music, and a cash bar. Music by the LJRJ Band, Peggy Malone, and Morgan Crouse. A wide variety of music including: Pop, Polkas-Corridos, Oldies, Rock n Roll, Country Western and Blues will be played by John Chavez, Larry Archuleta, Richard Sanchez and John Moore. All proceeds will benefit the new church building fund for Sacred Heart Church. Admission is $25 per person.
New Year’s Eve Dance Party

The Ale House is hosting a New Year’s Eve Party as a benefit for the Latimer House. The event will include music, dancing, full service dinner & bar. Prize drawings and specialty martinis. New Year's Eve Dinner/Dance

The Grand Junction Eagles Lodge will host a New Year’s Eve Dinner/Dance. Reservations are required. Prime Rib dinner from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Dancing and music by Desert Flyer Band from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. Champagne toast and ball drop at midnight.
