In western Colorado, bicycling is one of the most popular recreational activities. The Back to School Bike Rodeo will give children the opportunity to safely learn and practice their riding skills all while having fun.

With the help of bike instructors and the Fruita Police Department, kids will learn how to ride safely and confidently. For kids who bike to school, there will be information to help them determine the safest bicycling route.

Riders will also have the opportunity to get a safety inspection of their bike and register it. After the inspection and registration, participants can get a free helmet if they need one.

The bike rodeo will also have bicycles for kids to borrow for the event if they are unable to bring their own or don't own one.

The Bike Rodeo is free and will be held on Saturday, August 29 at the Fruita Community Center parking lot. The event runs from 9:00 a.m. - Noon.
