Grand Junction + Fruita Could Be Named ‘Colorado’s Top Adventure Town’
The cities of Grand Junction and Fruita are in contention to win the title "Colorado's Top Adventure Town."
Elevation Outdoors is inviting people to vote for Colorado's top adventure town. Colorado certainly has plenty of great adventure towns, but which one is number one? Whether it's hiking, biking, skiing, golf, four-wheeling, dirt biking, or river rafting there are a lot of towns to turn to for good times.
Grand Junction and Fruita have both made it into the second round of "Elevation Outdoors" voting which began on Wednesday and runs through September 6. Round three voting will be September 6-13, and fourth and final round voting will be September 13-20.
Other towns making it to the second round of voting are
- Alamosa
- Aspen
- Durango
- Gunnison
- Ouray
- Boulder
- Breckenridge
- Buena Vista
- Carbondale
- Colorado Springs
- Crested Butte
- Eagle
- Estes Park
- Idaho Springs
- Leadville
- Nederland
- Pagosa Springs
- Silverton
- Salida
- Winter Park
- Lyons
Of course, living in western Colorado, I might be a bit biased in leaning toward Grand Junction, but Fruita is also a great town of adventure. The bottom line is, I would love to see any western slope town win the title of "Colorado's Top Adventure Town."
I'm not going to tell you how to vote, just vote. Later in the month, we'll announce the results when Elevation Outdoors makes the final tally.
