Downtown Grand Junction Tree Lighting Happens on Friday
The annual downtown Grand Junction tree lighting happens this Friday, November 17.
Some changes are in store for this annual holiday tradition in downtown Grand Junction.
For starters, the tree lighting will be a little earlier than normal. Musical entertainment begins at 4:45 with Shannon Castaneda.
We anticipate Santa's arrival at about 5:20 pm, which we hope to have captured live on KKCO 11 News. If you can't make it downtown, be sure and catch the 5:00 news.
Once Santa arrives, he will visit with boys and girls in front of the newly lit tree. Parents are encouraged and welcome to take photos during this time.
During the first half of the Santa visits, Grand Junction firefighters will be handing out small bags of treats to all of the good little boys and girls. Once the firefighters have to leave, we'll continue to pass out treats to the kids while supplies last. Santa visits will wrap up at about 6:45.
This is such a festive time and Main Street looks amazing all lit up, so I would encourage you to bring the family downtown for some holiday fun. As they say, "tis the season to be jolly!"
