There has been a high number of businesses closing down in Grand Junction within the last year and unfortunately Girlfriends joined that list.

Girlfriends was a locally owned and operated business since 1976. Jenny Mason, the owner said it was too hard to keep the business open with how the Grand Junction economy has been suffering. It is always sad to see a business go, especially a unique downtown shop.

Everything in the store is at least 40% off and they will be accepting gift cards and in-store credits until August 6.

It is difficult to keep small businesses open in an ever-changing economy, but they are an important part of Grand Junction. Small changes like buying local produce, eating at locally owned restaurants, and shopping at small boutiques and shops can help boost our economy.

Shop local.
