If you missed the Perseids Meteor Shower this year, you are not alone. I did, too. That's a big bummer because from all accounts this was a great year for meteor viewing, and next year's annual event will not be as spectacular. Next  year during the shower the moon will be a three-quarter moon, which will wash out much of the night time sky when viewing is at it's peak. It's quite possible that the next good Perseids viewing will not be until 2015.

I know this isn't quite the same as lying outside underneath the night time sky, but for those of us that missed this year's meteor shower, we can enjoy these shooting stars from this year's event.
