After a long, cold winter in Western Colorado, the month of March is certainly a welcome sight. And there's plenty of reason to celebrate. Of course, March brings the long-awaited arrival of Spring, we celebrate St.Patrick's Day on the 17th, and Easter this year will be celebrated on March 31st. In addition to the holidays there are plenty of other things to celebrate this month including peanuts, frozen food, and noodles. Here's a list of the observances in the month of March.

  • Women's History Month
  • National Nutrition Month
  • National Peanut Month
  • Music In Out Schools Month
  • Youth Art Month
  • National Caffeine Awareness Month
  • National Flour Month
  • National Sauce Month
  • National Noodle Month
  • American Red Cross Month
  • National Frozen Food Month
  • Food Health Month
  • Mental Retardation Month
  • National Feminine Improvement Month

So you see there are plenty of things to observe and celebrate this month. I think I will celebrate by eating peanuts and drinking coffee every day, while studying great women in history, all while daily counting down how many days until Spring. Go ahead and pick a cause -observe it, celebrate it, and enjoy the third month of the year.
