Best Day in December – I’m Done!

It was perhaps my most productive hour of the year.One hour - doing what I needed to do. Braving the elements to successfully accomplish my goal. Trudging through the cold…….battling the crowds……..struggling with my own indecision. Walking down aisle after aisle...meeting smile after smile. But in the end - victory...……success……..triumph! My 2012 Christmas shopping was done.

When it was all said and done,  nobody was more surprised than I was that it went so smoothly, so quickly and ended so abruptly- with packages in hand and bank account drained. But, I was done. Why wait til the last minute? This called for a celebration. But, I was just too weary -completely drained physically and emotionally from the escapade.

Perhaps I will celebrate the successful end to my Christmas shopping this weekend with a big bowl of chili…..void of vegetables……covered in melted cheese, with Fritos scattered throughout…and an ice cold crème soda.
