Summer is here and the 2015 Farmers Market kicks off this week in downtown Grand Junction.

Downtown Grand Junction is the place to be on Thursday evenings during the summer months for the weekly Farmers Market. Each week features fresh produce from local growers, vendors, and live entertainment.

This year's Farmers Market promises to deliver more fresh produce than ever before with 14 farmers expected to be in attendance. That nearly doubles last year's total.

Another great attraction is the 21 new pieces of Art on Corner sculptures that were recently installed for the 2015 temporary exhibit. This is a great time to check out the new art exhibits.

Of course, there is plenty of patio dining for those that want dinner,  and free parking is offered in the parking garage on Rood Ave., between 4th and 5th Streets.

This week's featured entertainment from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.:

  • 4th and Main - Grand Junction Centennial Band
  • 5th and Main - Ghost Pepper
  • 6th and Main - Bone Tree
  • 6th and Main - Drum Safari
  • 7th and Main -Thomasina Russell

Hey, be sure and leave your pets at home. Pets are prohibited at downtown events by city ordinance.
