Grand Junction’s Main Street is Considered a City Park
You probably didn't realize that Grand Junction's Main Street, between 1st and 7th, is a city park, but it is. Seriously.
That might be the most surprising news you will hear today, but it's also possibly the best news because it's a chance for you to win a cool prize from downtown Grand Junction.
Grand Junction Parks and Rec has been doing scavenger hunts at city parks all year, giving out weekly clues and challenging residents to get out to a park and find a hidden treasure. The Meet Me At The Park Scavenger Hunt is continuing, but this time, it's just a little different.
For seven weeks, Parks and Rec will be posting new clues on their Facebook page every Thursday that will reveal a store in the Downtown Main Street Park. Once you figure out the store, you have to find the item pictured in the post. If you are the first person to find the hidden item, you win a prize. Each of the seven participating stores is donating a gift card or merchandise to the winner.
It sounds like fun, but you're going to have to be sharp and fast. Grand Junction Parks and Rec is always coming up with cool things to do and this is a great way to get into the holiday spirit. If nothing else, we all just learned that downtown Grand Junction is a city park.
