Perfect Your Wine Swirling Technique at Western Slope Uncorked
At Western Slope Uncorked, you can swirl, sniff, and sip a big, bright, or oaky glass of wine on the largest flattop mountain in the world. Don't understand any of this? We're here to help.
Oenophiles practice this habitual swirl and whiff to discover familiar notes of violet, burnt toast, pineapple, wet wood, and many others.
Swirling is a fundamental technique that aerates the wine’s complex esters. The oxygen exposes its full potential, known as the wine’s “bouquet.” Steps to swirl wine properly:
1. Securely hold the glass by the stem on a flat surface.
2. Softly twirl the glass in little circular motions for 10-20 seconds covering the sides of the glass.
3.Tilt the wine glass to funnel aromas to the nose.
Western Slope Uncorked is a wonderful chance for you and your friends to create waves in delectable wine while listening to Restless Heart. Come join us for a cool evening in the mountains!
Western Slope Uncorked will take place Saturday, August 1 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Powderhorn Ski Resort. Purchase tickets now for $40 or $50 at the door.
