With artists including Eric Clapton making plans to retire from touring and others coming out of retirement, it makes sense these artists should rework some of their most popular songs to fit the aging audience likely to attend one of their shows.

In addition to Clapton, comedian and musician Tim Hawkins has come up with a few possible rewrites to songs from the aging group of stars including Neil Diamond, The Eagles, Tom Petty, KC and the Sunshine Band and others.

This is just a small sampling of the great songs that can be reworked for the aging rockers and their audience. One I came up with is a rewrite of Linda Ronstadt's "It's So Easy." The new lyrics could be "It's so easy to fall in the tub, it's so easy to fall in the tub. Doctor says I'm such a fool 'cause I always end up bumped and bruised. It's so easy to fall in the tub."

If you have reworked lyrics for aging rock stars, put them in the comments section below. I'd love to share them.
