Not sure what this all means? This short video has all the details!
The Colorado Water Education Foundation recently did a story in their Headwaters Magazine about the Joint Water Conservation Plan put together by the three valley water providers--Ute, Clifton, and the City of Grand Junction. This short video interviews water managers from the three entities explaining why they did this.
According to Joseph Burtard with the Ute Water Conservancy District,
The three domestic water providers started developing the Regional Water Conservation Plan is 2009, making it the first Regional Plan in the State of Colorado. The purpose of a Water Conservation Plan is to help water purveyors improve their overall water use efficiency by identifying and addressing key problem areas. The plan then provides a defined method of solving problems and dealing with system inefficiencies. This plan, like the Drought Response Plan, is a prime example of how the area domestic water providers are working together to protect the best interest of Western Colorado’s resources.
