Two Parks in Colorado Named One of 50 Coolest Places For Kids
TIME for Kids asked kids from all over the world to name what they thought was the coolest place on Earth for kids and two National parks in Colorado made the list.
Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve and Mesa Verde were named to the list of the 50 coolest places for kids due to how much fun they can have and what they can learn. They joined places like Walt Disney World, the Apollo Mission Control Center in Houston and the Grand Canyon as places kids just thought were cool.
The kids loved the Great Sand Dunes due to its 750 foot high dunes and amazing nighttime views for stargazing, while Mesa Verde was selected for its historical significance and over 5,000 artifacts.
Other places named to the list include Evermore Park in Utah, Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and the Children's Eternal Rainforest in Costa Rica.
The places were chosen by kids based on quality, sustainability, originality, and accessibility. This first edition of TIME for kids looks to be an annual affair.
