You've heard about and probably seen some of the images from the devastating tornadoes that ravaged the mid-west over the weekend. Washington, Illinois was one  of the hardest hits town. Across the state line in Indiana,  in a town, also named Washington, I was shocked to learn that a radio station I used to work at was also  hit by a tornado on Sunday.

The radio station is WAMW in Washington, Indiana, a town of about 12,000 resident in southern Indiana. I spent 10 years working at WAMW before moving back to Colorado in 2002.

In this video, Andy Morrison (who, by the way, took my place when I left) captures on video the moment the tornado hits the station. Afterwards, Andy, and station owner Dave Crooks, my former boss assess the damage. Dave is well-known in the community for being right in the middle of severe weather. The problem is, it would appear the storm had knocked the station off the air, leaving Dave without a microphone to share the story.
