There is no guarantee that Tim Tebow will have a job when the NFL regular season begins in September. That's one question that will be answered on opening day. The bigger question, perhaps, is if Tebow does in fact have a job with an NFL team, what exactly will that job be.

Even before the New  York Jets released the Denver Broncos' former first-round draft pick there  was plenty of speculation about the possibility of Tebow ending up in New England. After all, Josh McDaniels is there - the man who believed in Tebow so much that he spent a first round pick on the Florida quarterback, when everyone else was hesitant to take such a chance  on a guy who, even from the beginning, was surrounded by questions and skepticism.

The fact that the New England Patriots signed Tebow is not a huge surprise, although it seems that most pro football analysts had pretty much written the epitaph on Tebow's NFL career. If Tebow was to get another shot in the NFL,  New England seems to make the most sense. You have the offensive master mind Josh McDaniels, and a no-nonsense coach in Bill Belichick who will not tolerate or create the circus atmosphere that surrounded Tebow during his short stint with the Jets.

From all indications, the Patriots plan to use Tebow as a quarterback - not a tight end or full back as many have suggested. Nor do they plan to use him as a punt protector, as did the Jets. The one thing that is certain, Tebow will not be competing for the starting quarterback position. That job belongs to future hall-of-famer Tom Brady, and will most likely remain his until he decides to hang it up. Tebow will compete for a back up position - but it will be as a quarterback.

The Tim Tebow fan club will once again rise up in a chorus of praise.  They will proclaim Bill Bellichick and the New England Patriots as the savior of Tebow's NFL career.Tebow's detractor's will sing the familiar refrain - Tebow does not have the skill set to be an NFL quarterback, and it's just of time before the Patriots discover what the Broncos and Jets learned for themselves--the Tim Tebow potential and the Tim Tebow reality are light years a part.

Tebow has continued to work on his mechanics. Some say he is vastly improved, while others propose there is not enough time for him to get where he needs to be in order to play the quarterback position successfully, proficiently, and competently. Will we see a new and different Tim Tebow? Will it be the same indecision and inaccuracy that plagued him in Denver.

The fact is, nobody knows what will become of Tim Tebow in New England - not even the Patriots. But, most would agree - if there is one place in the NFL where Tebow can have success it's with the Patriots. And, until we know the answer to all these questions, there will be plenty of fodder for NFL talk shows during the off-season that will insure we don't miss a single second of the now-resumed Tebow journey. We will wait for the answers.
