This picture shows a California Zephyr train in Glenwood Springs in 1954. According to the Historial Photos of Fruita & Western Colorado's Facebook, although the original train service stopped in 1970, the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad kept it going.

The passenger service ran between Salt Lake City and Denver and even used the same equipment until 1983. According to the Historial Photos of Fruita & Western Colorado's Facebook, another version of the California Zephy was created by Amtrak.

You can still catch a California Zephry east and westbound. The California Zephyr now runs between Chicago and Emeryville, California. Just imagine all of the different, beautiful scenery you would see along the way. According to Amtrak's website:

The Zephyr runs daily between Chicago and San Francisco, coursing through the plains of Nebraska to Denver, across the Rockies to Salt Lake City, and then through Reno and Sacramento into Emeryville/San Francisco.
