I have to share my two cents about the round 2 presidential debate- and my thoughts are not political in nature. I was actually awake for a good part of the debate, and as I listened I found myself constantly annoyed by the sound of one candidate interrupting the other. And then the moderator would try to chime in, and suddenly you have three people talking at  once. It made me want to desperately change the channel.(Either that or claw my eyeballs out)  I don't think I'm alone in my annoyance. And so I have three easy suggestions to make future debates better.

1) Only have one microphone on at a time. When one candidate is speaking, the other candidate's microphone isn't even on, so it is impossible for him to interrupt.

2) Penalize the candidate who interrupts the other candidate and starts talking before it's his turn. Every time a  candidate  interrupts the other he  is docked 30 seconds of rebuttal time. (Or maybe he gets docked $50,000 in campaign funds)

3) When a candidate's two minute time limit is up, the microphone automatically shuts off - so he HAS to stay within the established guidelines. If he keeps talking, everyone at home can only see his mouth moving but can not hear him.( Either that or put a shock collar collar on each candidate that would deliver a generous jolt of electricity whenever he  goes over the time limit.)

As long as we have been having presidential debates, you would think that eventually we would get it right.
