In 2015, Mesa County lost 37 people to suicide. A local nightclub is hosting an event, "Stay Strong, Stay Beautiful, Stay With Us," with proceeds going to a non-profit striving to bring suicide awareness and prevention to the Grand Valley.

The fundraiser, coming to Thunderstruck Valley at 436 Main Street in Grand Junction, features live music by local favorites James Williams & Friends. Donations are requested to assist the Western Colorado Suicide Prevention Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

According to the Western Colorado Suicide Prevention Foundation's official web page, they are “committed to reducing the rate of suicide in the region by encouraging and coordinating collaborative efforts to provide diverse prevention and awareness messaging, education, advocacy and funding.”

Funds raised will be donated to Western Colorado Suicide Prevention Foundation in memory of Craig Sherwood.

This event gets underway Saturday, March 26, at 6 pm at Thunderstruck Valley. Your donation gets you a free drink.
