The 2nd Annual Caddyshack Golf Tournament promises to be even better than the first.

Sequels are rarely as good as or better than the first, as was the case with the movie Caddyshack II.

But, when it comes to the golf tournament in Grand Junction, the sequel is likely to be even better than the first one.

The Caddyshack Golf Tournament is a two-person scramble at the Golf Club at Redlands Mesa on June 10. The cost is $250 per team and they have lots of great prizes, plus there will be dinner and cocktails. Over $2000 in cash prizes is up for grabs plus other giveaways. Teams can be two men, two women, couples, or parent/child.

The idea of the Caddyshack Golf Tournament is to play in the spirit of the classic 1980 movie starring Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, and Rodney Dangerfield. Ugly hats are encouraged - in fact, there is a prize for the ugliest hat - and golfers are encouraged to dress up Caddyshack style. The more colorful the better.

The tournament is open to men and women, and there is also an opportunity for kids to be involved with a golf ball hunt for prizes. Additional dinner tickets may be purchased for $15 for kids and spouses of golfers.

The tournament is a fundraiser for Bilingual Kids, a program focused on teaching Spanish to kids in the classroom at a very early age to give them a bilingual future.

Get signed up for this outstanding golf event and I hope to see out there swinging away Caddyshack style.
