Northern Colorado will officially have another sports team to cheer on beginning in 2022.

Say hello to Hailstorm FC, northern Colorado's newest and first-ever professional soccer team.

Back in January 2021, news had surfaced via the Future Legends Complex in Windsor that the stadium would house NoCo FC (Northern Colorado Football Club), an expansion franchise for the United Soccer League One.

Now, the United Soccer League’s newest expansion club is proud to unveil its new brand, Northern Colorado (NoCo) Hailstorm FC, to the public.

“It’s a very exciting day for the Northern Colorado soccer community,” said USL President Jake Edwards in an official press release on Thursday (July 15).

As per the press release, the brand plays homage to the iconic weather that Northern Coloradans experience. The local community even had a say in the creation process of the new brand, which embraces the characteristics integral to the community and those that the club is proud to represent.

Hailstorm FC’s brand colors feature streamlined and classic tones of navy, tan, gray, and white shades, which aim to signify the naturally occurring beauty of Northern Colorado.

“This is a community that craves sports and is covered with soccer fans of all ages,” Hailstorm FC Owner and Future Legends CEO Jeff Katofsky said in the press release. “We are thrilled to be able to bring a culture of competitiveness, togetherness, and success with a brand that echoes the beauty and strength of the power of Mother Nature.”

Both Hailstorm FC, along with the Northern Colorado Owlz professional baseball team, will call Future Legends Complex home. Future Legends Complex is a 118-acre sports complex in Windsor designed to host guests for major sports tournaments, events, and leagues for players of all ages and skill levels.

In addition, the complex includes a professional stadium, one collegiate stadium, multiple baseball diamonds, multi-purpose fields, a nearly 4-acre indoor bubble sports arena, hotel lodging, and retail options.

Hailstorm FC will join USL League One as an expansion team and play against the other existing and new members of League One; their first season is tentatively set to kick off in Spring 2022, according to the press release.

The exact dates for the 2022 League One season will be announced at a later date.

“Now that Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC has a name and a visual identity, the community can really start to get excited about their team and how it continues to take shape in preparation for its first season in 2022", said USL President Jake Edwards.
