Sometimes the story behind the song is as interesting as the song itself.  Rod Stewart's 1988 hit "Forever Young" is actually a rewrite of a song by another famous singer songwriter.

According to Wikipedia, the song is a rewrite of a Bob Dylan song by the same title. Stewart agreed to share the royalties from his reworked version of the song with Bob Dylan.

Stewart once said, "Forever Young" was one of his favorite songs because it was a real heartfelt song about his kids.

Rod Stewart produced a video for the song which, if you were a fan of MTV in the 80's, will bring back great memories.

The Bob Dylan version is from his 1974 appearance on the David Letterman Show.

Listen to both artist's versions and decide if they sound anything like each other. Which one is your favorite?
