I received a preview copy of Rod Stewart's new album 'Time' and as I was listening to it, decided to see what he had to say about his latest effort. One of the things that caught my attention was that more than one of the songs on the album were inspired by his wife, Penny Lancaster. In an interview with The Sun, Rod says songs including "She Makes Me Happy" are about his and Penny's relationship.

I feel the same about Penny today as I did when I met her 13 years ago. She’s so sexy and she’s my best friend... She’s a great wife, a great mom and a great lover. And I’m with her for life.

His autobiography, released last year, went into great detail about how he used to juggle his wives, girlfriends and mistresses over the years, but he says that all changed when he met Penny. Now, he says he's quite happy having only one woman in his life.

All but one of the tracks on the album 'Time' were co-written by Rod and the songs seem to reflect his real life experiences. The album also contains a Tom Waits penned tune titled, "Picture In A Frame" that is one of my personal favorites.

Rod's wife Penny, also helped with the album, providing photographs, including the album's cover photo. 'Time' is scheduled for release on May 7.
