Rick Brainard Newly Elected Grand Junction Councilman Arrested

Rick Brainard recently a seat on Grand Junction's city council, that it is if residents have a say after Brainard's arrest on Saturday.

Brainard was arrested early Saturday morning after a dispute with is live-in-girlfriend turned violent. Brainard is facing third degree charges of assault and harassment.

The confrontation began as a verbal dispute that turned physical in the bedroom. The victim claimed that Brainard pushed her into the dresser, and grabbed her by the arm, face and hair. She later claimed the he struck her in the face.

Brainard's term was to begin in May, we'll keep updating as information comes in.
