Remember how Grand Junction felt like an endless sea of road construction last year?

Or how it seemed like improvements were being done everywhere you looked?

You can expect more of the same in 2019, Grand Junction.

The city has several improvement projects ready for this spring and summer, some of which will help make it safer for children to get to school, some to improve badly needed roads and a few to help repair and improve some sorely needed areas.

  • In conjunction with Mesa County, Grand Junction will be completely restructuring Orchard Avenue from Normandy Way to 29 Road, adding sidewalks, gutters, curbs, street lights and crosswalk to make it safer for Nisley students to get to and from school.
  • 7th Street from Orchard Rd to Patterson will be redone and is scheduled to begin after JUCO.
  • Widening 25 Road and adding left-hand turn lanes at Waite Street as well as F 1/4 and F 1/8 roads.
  • Upgrades to Los Colonias Park, Two Rivers and other projects including replacing water meters, replacing irrigation and sewage lines and more.

The city has budgeted $42 Million for the improvements listed as well as others.
