Parachute Man Arrested for Attempted Homicide
A man from Parachute has been arrested in Grand Junction and charged with attempted homicide.
On Tuesday (December 19), the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of a fight in the 2300 block of Logos Drive.
The person who called in the report told dispatchers the man had a knife taped to his arm and had threatened people in the building.
During the investigation police officers found the man had driven through a bay door to the building causing several thousand dollars in damage. Witnesses said following the threats the man left in a red truck.
Police officers were able to locate the truck, suspect and the weapon used during the threats. At the time of the arrest, the suspect was identified as 38-year-old Hilario Maez of Parachute.
Maez is facing charges of Criminal Attempt to Commit First Degree Murder, Felony Menacing, Criminal Mischief and Driving Under the Influence.
