With football season in full swing on the high school, college and professional levels, and with Major League Baseball just days away from playoff action, one might think that football and baseball are the only sports in town.

Not for long, though. As it turns out, the NHL will begin its preseason this coming Sunday with four games on the schedule.

The Colorado Avalanche will begin its preseason next Monday (September 22) with an evening game against the Anaheim Ducks.

Here’s what the schedule looks like for the first two days of the NHL preseason (all times listed are Mountain Standard Time):

Sunday, September 21

  • Columbus @ Carolina, 11:30 a.m.
  • Buffalo @ Washington, 3:00 p.m.
  • St. Louis @ Columbus, 4:30 p.m.
  • Calgary @ Edmonton, 6:00 p.m.

Monday, September 22

  • Anaheim @ Colorado, 7:00 p.m.
  • Ottawa @ New York Islanders, 4:00 p.m.
  • New Jersey @ New York Rangers, 5:00 p.m.
  • Toronto @ Philadelphia, 5:00 p.m.
  • Detroit @ Pittsburgh, 5:00 p.m.
  • Minnesota @ Winnipeg, 6:00 p.m.
  • St. Louis @ Dallas, 6:30 p.m.
  • Los Angeles @ Arizona, 8:00 p.m.
